We all are in a season of waiting of one kind or another. We wait for test results, for a better job, for a spouse, for healing in a relationship, for a tree to bear fruit, for a baby’s birth, for a different living situation. But in all of these, it is not the sitting-at-a.red-light kind of waiting where we must be still and do nothing until the light turns. As believers in God’s school of waiting, we are active all the while.
When we are waiting on the Lord (which the Bible tells us some 80 or more times to do!), we are not passive. We draw near to Him in our season of waiting, approaching “the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
We trust Jesus Christ for the completeness of our salvation. He is Lord over everything, the forerunner and finisher of our faith, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Every waiting period of our lives has been written by Him in love, the same love that He proved to you already on the cross at Calvary.
