“No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you to be tempted beyond what you can bear. … he will also provide a way out.”

1 Corinthians 10:13
Before my incarceration, I gave in to every temptation set before me. I grew up in a Christian home, have a grandfather who was a pastor, and was given plenty of head knowledge about God. Yet I did not have a personal relationship with Him. Over time, I drifted away except on Christmas and Easter.

This lifestyle of sin landed me in jail several times, brought me four failed marriages, and saw me committing a horrendous crime. At age 36 I was sent to prison for life. God had found a way to get my attention.

In the past 20 years, He has moved in my life like never before. He’s filled me with His Holy Spirit, covered me in His blood, and cleared my conscience with the forgiveness of my sins. I have a new lease on life with a renewed mind, no longer being conformed to this world. God has always made a way for me so that I can move forward with assurance of my salvation through Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.

How has God shown you a way out of temptations that confront you? He gives every believer the grace and power to endure. His Word says so.
