“Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in His ways. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours.”

Psalm 128:1
The Lord’s goodness is beyond measure. His creation is for all the world. He sends sunshine and rain for the production of food. Waters flow to quench our thirst. Creatures of the sea and of the air as well as flocks and herds are for our enjoyment and good. When Adam and Eve were created, all that they would ever need had been put in place for them and for the generations to come.

Yet Scripture reveals that there is special favor bestowed on those who seek the Lord and choose Him for life and eternity. Psalm 128 speaks of home and a family gathered around a table, eating the fruit of their labors with blessing and prosperity. When we fear the Lord, His goodness becomes rich, indeed.

How easy in today’s world of abundance to miss seeing the hand of God in all that we have in daily life. Do you take the Lord’s goodness for granted? I remind myself that even if my work has been financially rewarded, who gave me the strength to do that job? Join me in setting our minds on acknowledging and being grateful for His bountiful goodness.
