“Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?”

Proverbs 20:6
One of the most remarkable aspects of our New Testament is its consistent fulfillment of the Old Testament. On almost every page of the final 27 books of our Bibles, we find quotations, allusions, and references to the Old Testament patriarchs and prophets stretching from Genesis to Malachi. What does that communicate about God? Not only does it convey God’s divine authorship of our sacred texts, but it also reveals God as the One who fulfills His promises. Not one word He has spoken will go unfulfilled; not one promise will be broken.

Since we are being conformed into the image of Christ, we ought to expect our lives to grow in this type of integrity. As Solomon says, there is no shortage of people who make big promises. What the world needs are faithful men and women, people who keep their promises. In so doing, we will provide a strong witness to our promise-keeping God whose Word will never fail.

More importantly, God has shown us there is One who can be found faithful, One whose love is unfailing. His name is Jesus!
